Bar vs PSI: Reading Pressure Specs Without Confusion

Bar and PSI are both pressure units. You see them on tire labels, pumps, compressors, valves, pressure washers and product specifications.

Use Bar to PSI or PSI to Bar when a manual, gauge or label uses the other unit.

Do not mix labels on gauges

Some gauges show both units, but the markings can be crowded. Check which scale you are reading before adjusting pressure.

Use the product’s recommended range

Conversion does not replace the manufacturer’s guidance. Stay within the stated range for tires, tools or containers.

Round carefully

For many everyday uses, one decimal in bar or a whole number in PSI is enough. For technical specs, keep the precision from the source.
